Today is Christmas Eve, and I would like to start by thanking McDonald’s for operating as usual and not charging a public holiday surcharge — that is appreciated.
However, my experience this morning at the McDonald’s Southern Cross was extremely frustrating. The coffee machine was broken, but there was no announcement or explanation from the staff. I was waiting at the self-serve machine for my order, number 141. After order 140 collected her coffee, I continued waiting for around 10 minutes, assuming my order was next.
Only then did I hear a staff member call out order 150, informing that customer the coffee machine was broken and asking whether they wanted to change to another item. Meanwhile, customers with earlier numbers, including 144, 146, and myself, were left standing and confused, with no information at all. We eventually had to approach the staff ourselves to ask what was going on.
I completely understand that machines can break down — even on Christmas Eve — and that is acceptable. What is not acceptable is the lack of communication and the failure to follow the order sequence. Skipping waiting customers without explanation is confusing and upsetting.
The situation showed a clear lack of basic customer service and crisis management training. A simple announcement or calling orders in the correct order would have avoided this frustration entirely.
I hope management can review this incident and provide better staff training, especially for handling unexpected issues during busy periods.

The Asian girl with glasses working this morning was very rude and unfriendly. I ordered three Big Breakfast Deals and accidentally got a hot latte instead of an iced one. When I politely asked the barista for some ice, the girl with glasses abruptly cut in, saying they couldn't make any changes. I wasn't asking for a remake—just some ice. Her response was unnecessarily cold and impolite.

I order 2 bundles, but they give me only 1 soft bag. Then the bag can handle stuffs in bag. And my fries drop to the ground.

Morning hunger hits different when you’ve just hopped off a long train ride. McDonald’s near Southern Cross is practically a magnet for commuters like me—eyes half-awake, searching for something warm and easy.
I went with my usual: crispy hash brown (always a classic) and a fun twist for dessert — Choco Custard Pie McFlurry. It was surprisingly satisfying!
The place was packed, but everything moved fast, and the staff handled the rush like pros.
ⴵ 𝗪𝗮𝗶𝘁 𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲: Quite fast despite the crowd
