This spot is a little bit of everything – cakes, coffee, and Japanese food all under one roof. It’s always busy whenever we’ve walked by, which says a lot about its popularity. I first tried their coffee on a quick visit, and it was very good. That led to a lunch visit, and again, very good!

Matcha here is the bestttt! Usually I come for just matcha but today I was intrigued by the lunch menu. The udon here is the best, especially their tempura. Fried to perfection. Light balanced flavours- reminds me of being back in Japan. Want to come back and try there rice dishes.

This is one amazing cafe to remember. When I first got in, the atmosphere was nice and modern, with little noise pollution and the tables were clean. The coffee and bread they serve are very delicious, well-prepared and is something I'll never forget. Very nice cafe. Its also near some supermarkets, so you can go shopping after you exit the cafe.

One of my absolute favourite cafes. The food, cakes and drinks are all absolutely sensational and perfectly seasoned. The flavours are light and delicate, and every ingredient shines. The cakes are light, fluffy, and visually appealing! The matcha? Perfect. I particularly love their tempura -- it's perfectly fried, not oily, and has a nice, delicate crunch that balances the flavours of the vegetables inside. It's a little on the pricier side, and you're jammed in a little in terms of the seating, but the food and drinks are so good that the whole experience is worth it. I go out of my way to get something from here every time I'm around Clayton.

Something's changed about Chayo. It use to be our favourite spot about 3 years ago. They have expanded the back so there is more room but the kitchen is the same so more people, same speed....very slow. We waited 45 minute for 2 dishes...flavour has changed, the Udon stock is blander now, the curry sauce is also lacking in flavour. Matcha latte was nice but overall I'm quite disappointed. I guess everything changes over time and maybe this is no longer our favourite spot. May come back in a few years time.
