Ordered for the first time last night for an early dinner. Excellent. Delicate fish (battered blue grenadier), crunchy potato cake, huge freshly made onion ring. Perfectly cooked chips and a lightly battered sweet banana fritter. This will be our go to fish and chips. It’s a small business so ring up to order and bring cash

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Absolutely fantastic experience at Eltham Woods Fish & Chips! The customer service was outstanding — every staff member was friendly, patient, and genuinely welcoming, even with the extreme heat outside. You could tell they were working hard but still took the time to make everyone feel looked after. The owner’s generosity really stood out and added to an already great experience. It’s rare to see such care and kindness, especially on such a tough, hot day. Because of this experience, we’ll definitely be returning customers. Highly recommend supporting this local gem!

Worth flying from Miami for! I wish I could give 6 stars out of 5, the food is delicious and the customer service really exceptional. We had the fried flake which was light and crispy. In fact, it was so good we returned for more 2 days later. The staff are so friendly and helpful. (Hey Cathy from Miami!) This place really is a gem. Go when you get the chance, you'll be glad you did.

I heard about this place through my friend group and while some of my friends lack taste buds I ventured into the picturesque suburb of Eltham to experience this establishment for myself. I was pleasantly surprised and as a kiwi we pride ourselves on our fish and chips back home. The owners are so welcoming and accommodating. When you walk into this establishment you are not just another customer, you are seen and heard. The food is amazing, the fish is moist and not dry and you can see that they take pride in everything they do here! For me the star of the show were the chips and the onion rings! My goodness those onion rings are next level. There’s plenty of parking and the premises are so clean that you could be mistaken that the store was newly opened but upon speaking to the owners I am advised the establishment has been successfully operating for at least 2 years and with the food they are pumping out there? They will be successfully operating for many more years to come. May Steve Cathy and have all the prosperity they deserve because this place has surpassed all my expectations and I will be returning!
