A somewhat newish Melbourne venture from the folks at Bright brewery. Prince Alfred hotel has undergone a revamp, and looks quite nice inside. I'm not sure if that still constitutes it as a uni hangout spot, as these are usually dingy and grotty. A nice selection of high quality beers is available on tap, and I beileve also in cans. The main payment method is via card, although there still thankfully remains options for cash payments. The menu looks quite respectable and enticing. Staff are pretty friendly and on a quiet day, it's a good little spot to hang.

Great vegetarian burger and mulled wine! I loved the texture of the vegetarian burger. The mulled wine was nice and warm and had a great spiced flavor.

We had a group gathering a month ago, and the booking process was so easy. I went back with my friend this time. Great service and great food. Highly recommended.

Student pub but lots of staff from the local institutions go for after work drinks. The vibe is always great. Great happy hour rates and lots of beer options. Staff are always so friendly.

Google Parent Tip

The place is nice, but many GF options in the menu are not really gluten free. According to FSANZ, a gluten free food means that there's ZERO gluten present. If the same oil and fryer are used for gluten products, these shouldn't be claim as "GF". It's an allergen and health issue for coeliacs, not a choice.
