Review: We had a lovely dining experience here! The food was great, fresh fish, delicious scallops, and tasty prawns that were perfectly cooked. The chips and potato cakes were enjoyable, though not particularly unique. What truly stood out was the service. Despite having only one staff member working, the service was absolutely awesome, efficient, friendly, and attentive. One thing to keep in mind is that the seating is exposed to the sun, which might not be ideal on very hot days. That said, the quality of the food and the excellent service make this a spot worth revisiting, especially if you’re planning to enjoy the beach or explore the nearby Sweetwater Creek Nature Reserve.

Google Parent Tip

Today I paid $26 for a medium chips (Think we got about 30 chips in total) and 4 potato cakes that were inedible. The food was swimming in oil, my kids wouldn't even eat it. The food here used to be really good when it first started coming to Oliver's Hill, and they used to have the best chips but for some reason changed them and now they are pretty ordinary. Everything is far too oily, it's all you can taste. Every now and then we give Cripps another try, but today might have been the last. It's such a shame when it used to be so good!

Perfect day for a stroll on the beach when the sun is finally out in Melbourne! Had fish and chips- not as great- batter was cooked dry and no seasoning.

I was there this week. Ordered 2 potato cakes, 1 dim sim. The potato cakes were so oily as to be inedible. The dim sim tasted off. The man serving was strange to say the least, and made some odd comments. He gave me a few free chips in the bag which were nice. My god tho the whole think was so bad.

Worst fish and chips experience. Went on a quiet weekday evening with no other customers. Despite the bad reviews, I decided to give them a chance—big mistake. 1. Ordered a Fisherman’s Basket for TWO and received ONE fish. She didn't say anything and we had to walk back to ask her about it. When questioned, the lady claimed it was "a big fish" and standard practice is to serve ONE fish between TWO people. 2. Calamari was undercooked, soggy, cold and made me feel ill after just one bite. 3. The prices ($45) are outrageous for such poor quality and small portions. Please see photo for comparison of food and phone. I've never had such a small box for a meal between two. Even lunch packs are bigger at other places. An absolute scam. I felt disgusted after my meal here. I will never come back here.
