The chicken biryani at Jaathara at Barkly is absolutely delicious! 🍗🍚
Perfectly cooked rice, rich aroma, and well-balanced spices with tender chicken. The flavour was authentic and satisfying, and the portion size was great. Service was quick and friendly, and the food quality was excellent.
Highly recommended for anyone who loves tasty biryani — 5 stars without doubt!

Visited Jathara in Docklands on 31/01/26. We are on the way to Chilli India in Docklands and saw this newly opened restaurant and wanted to give it a try. Ordered a Chicken 65 Biryani and a Mutton Biryani.
Chicken 65 biryani was like chicken fried rice and it was not a biryani at all and it was served in a plate.
Mutton Biryani was way below average. Not even comparable to other restaurants in Docklands and CBD.
Bad experience from taste and quality perspective from a newly opened restaurant with pricing same as premium restaurants.

Best place for South Indian breakfast in Melbourne. Punugulu, Idly, Puri with chicken curry were delicious. Chutney is also really fresh and delicious. The ambience is great with old Telugu classics playing in the background.

Chicken Keema Dosa, Garlic Naan, and Idly excellent but I would not recommend the Pani Puri as in the picture they are all filled but when you get them they are empty so you fill them yourself but not enough filling is given in any case they should come filled. So I felt I paid for these small empty balls and not really sure what to do with them.

Absolutely loved the food here! Rich flavours, perfect spices, and generous portions. The fried rice & mango lassi were outstanding. Clean place, quick service, and great value for money. Will definitely come back again.❤️
