We drove past this restaurant on the way home late at night while looking for food, and even though it was close to closing, they were kind enough to take us in. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, and the food was fantastic.
We ordered the steak and the linguine prawn pasta — both were full of flavour and beautifully cooked. I wish I could have taken more pictures, but we honestly just gobbled the food as soon as it arrived because it looked and tasted so good.
My partner prefers steak medium-rare while I prefer mine closer to medium, and the staff noticed this without us even needing to ask. They kindly checked with the chef and had my portion cooked a little more, which was such a thoughtful and accommodating touch.
On our way out, we thanked the chef and staff for a wonderful night. Truly great service and great food — definitely worth stopping by. Highly recommended.

Place was packed for Sunday breakfast! We didn’t book & they found us a table, saying they’d move others around.
Breakfast was absolutely delicious, food took a while, only because they were so busy, we didn’t mind - gave us more time to chat. I had soy dirty chai - was so yum!

We had breakfast, the Smashed avocado and Big Breakfast. Absolutely beautiful food, such big sizes and cooked perfectly. Welcoming and friendly staff, such a nice place to eat out. Coffee was perfect too, even got a takeaway dessert for later of lemon meringue! Only negative I can say is the knife was a little hard to cut through food. Maybe steak knives might be another option.
We are looking forward to organising a dinner there for our next night out.

A locals delight!
Freddie’s at Carrum the place the locals go because it’s good.
A great restaurant with a casual dining experience and relaxing atmosphere.
Jenny and her staff were wonderful with friendly quick service. Nothing was a problem.
Food was great at reasonable prices.
Gnocchi was superb and the pizza was awesome. A great wine and spirits list, including beers.
We were down from Sydney visiting friends and it was excellent Italian. Also steaks are served and it was a half price steak night on a Wednesday.
But it was the Italian food we were after. I would travel down from Melbourne city to Carrum to eat here.
Definitely would recommend. 10/10

This time last year I wrote a stunning review on this place, have since deleted it because my opinion has changed. Went into Freddies today for a Valentine’s Day lunch. We walked in and were seated quickly by a lovely server, we ordered at drinks almost as soon as we went in and waited 15 mins for tea that did not come until we asked again and the server made it herself. Ordered food at 12:20 and by 1:15 it’s still had not come :( we got up and asked again and turns out the docket had not been printed and so kitchen had not received it; oh well machine mistake not servers or kitchen: no drama. Food came out quickly after that. We got the Acai bowl and big brekky both beautiful. We asked if we could maybe have the small coffee and pot of tea taken off our tab and our wonderful server with purple hair let us know that all food and drink will be on the house to cover for the mistake. We were then offered a dessert to take away to sweeten the deal, so we picked the rocky road slice to take away. The problem was we were then made to pay as we were leaving! $59.87 dollars for an hours wait for breakfast food, as well as the drinks we ordered at the start :( we should have complained then and there but felt awkward. I looked over to see Freddy himself and he avoided eye contact
So will not be coming back :(
