The North Melbourne Hotel

We were so glad to find this place. A real treat. Decor is stunning, the staff are pleasant and very engaging, the wine list is endless and the food is as good as we have had on recent trips to Melbourne. Prices are reasonable. Definitely worth the visit.

I stumbled upon this venue while looking for something to eat. Firstly, I was amazed at the interior - I felt like I was in an art gallery as its just stunning inside. Next, the wine list was also very impressive and well thought out. The service was impeccable and above and beyond of what you would expect from any venue (the chef even fetched me wine after bringing out food). The food itself was just delicious and of excellent quality and all gluten free too. I cannot wait to bring people here and show off the gem I found.

great menu (sort of tapas inspired but larger serves) can get really busy on weekends surprisingly for a large venue its not very noisy good wine selection Some wait staff very friendly and helpful, others seem to on their first night prices are reasonable given that the food quality is quite good. Some dishes are served with a smoky mayonnaise which I find quite bitter so best to ask upfront what the sauces are :)

Great decor. Great food. On the pricy side. Unfortunately they don't keep their wine list up to date - we chose an earlier year wine and they just gave us one two years later without checking. They didn't care when it was pointed out, which would be fine- if they didn't make a deal about the year and charge substantially more for older vintages..
