Didn’t realise when I ordered crispy pork banh mi that I was gonna get a vegetarian banh mi Times must be tough if this is how you’re filling them. To be honest I’d rather you charge me more than to be disappointed like this. It’s a shame because the bread was actually nice but you’re even stinging on the carrots Probs avoid this place if you don’t speak viet

I like To's. Between To's and Nhu Lan, I slightly prefer To's. When they make a good sandwich, it's pretty good. Not outstanding, but pretty good. It ticks the box. Price is right. I like the atmosphere, I like the queuing disorder, view out the back, and the way that nothing seems super well organised behind the counter. I like these things. What I don't like is the inconsistency. The last three, I repeat, three BBQ pork banh mi from To's have been total stinkers. Short on filling, less than ideal bread, still better than a lot of random Viet bakery rolls, but relative stinkers. I can tell as soon as I pick it up. When the pork gods gift me a good one, my pathetic soy-boy biceps struggle to lift the delicious mass. When I pick up a stinker, I still struggle, but I'm also sad. I'll probably keep going back because I like the vibe and the thrill of the chase.

Bought a puffed up sesame dough ball with red bean paste. It is one of the worst such thing I've ever tasted. For what is suppose to be a freshed fried ball, the outside is almost soft like its been sitting around for too long, or sat in the bottom of a big pile and got steamed by the heat of the other balls. The dough itself is hard and does not taste like it should. The kicker was it that it was visibly not quite the same quality as the othet balls in the pile, but the server still served it to me. Strongly not recommend this shop, not because the food is necessarily bad (the banh mi i had there was good), but rather fact they would deliberately seemly bad food to customers.

BEWARE of the prices when purchasing multiple items from this bakery because they will charge you extra without you noticing and realising!! I bought three desserts/sweets yesterday and got charged $18.50.. thinking that one of the desserts must be $9.50 as the other two items was a total of $9. My husband just noticed the price on the box states $6!!! An overcharge of $3.50 is ridiculous.. I’m furious at myself for being in a rush and not asking for a tax invoice to double check the prices. I remember that this has happened to me a couple of years back, however at the time I questioned the lady of the cost of each item and then she pretended that she miscalculated and apologised. I’m absolutely appalled that this has happened again and I honestly wonder how much extra money they’re making by scamming their customers on the side!!

Used to be a fan but the quality has gone downhill in the last couple of years. The ingredients of your banh mi also changes depending on which staff member is making the order. They have also displayed some very anti-community behaviour by complaining to Maribyrnong Council and causing them to take enforcement action against the street traders who used to have a lively weekend market on the footpaths nearby. They still have a sign taped up on their wall (in Vietnamese only) against street traders. The street traders were all elderly people selling homemade goods and plants, creating a great atmosphere in central Footscray that has sadly evaporated since To's complaint to the council. Very disappointing.
