Highly, highly recommend! Can’t say it enough. The best pain au chocolat I’ve ever had! The sandwiches are top quality too, you can really taste the fresh ingredients. I especially liked the amount of choice - not overwhelming like at other bakeries where you don’t know what to pick because there’s just too much. Plus, the staff were super welcoming and friendly.

One of the better bakery sausage rolls, lots of flavour and not oily at all. All the bread looks incredible also. Great local spot for baked goodies.

Akimbo bakery provides the best bread and treats served up by the best team. Always something new to try and old favourites to revisit. Sourdough bread is their specialty (house or seedy), their rye and caraway on Friday and Saturday is bloody delicious, but the staple in our house is milk bread, kinda like a brioche loaf? So yum fresh or toasted (if it lasts that long). Cream bun or Cardamom bun is my fave afternoon treat.

Another impressive bakery to add to your to do list! I've been a fan of Akimbo since I worked at Hector's Deli covering some shifts. For a short time, they were supplying the Turkish bread and it was always top notch. I tried a range of products on my first visit and it didn't disappoint. The Christmas ham and pickled pineapple slice, a maritozzi, a cookie, and a few other things between us, too. My friend bought some bread and he said it was very good. I also bought a mince pie for my boss. The bakery is beautiful. They've done a great job with the building. It looks old, but new from the outside and I really love that almost 50s milk bar/bakery style of exterior decor. I'll be back for sure.

Lovely place on Victoria Rd opposite the Northcote pool. The pink interiors stand out so u won't miss it! Tried a few of the items they had today and fav was the leek pizza slice. Chocolate cookies were awesome. Olive bread that just came out was delicious too. The bread is more on the hard crunchy side. Will have to go back to try other items.
