Five stars for Qammoua — an absolute standout Lebanese bakery tucked away in a quiet residential pocket in the west. The kind of place you stumble across and then dream about for weeks. The za’atar flatbreads are unreal — fragrant, crisp, and loaded with flavour. Easily on par with the best Lebanese bakeries you’ll find across Melbourne. The sujuk pastry? A spicy, savoury knockout. And the labneh pizza was a revelation: creamy, tangy, and perfectly balanced. I asked if they could add hot sauce, and without hesitation, they did — free of charge. That kind of generosity and warmth makes all the difference. Their fridge is stocked with ayran, too — which is exactly what you want to cut through all that glorious richness. Every detail, from the hospitality to the quality, is spot on. Qammoua might not be on a main street, but it deserves to be known far and wide. A proper neighbourhood treasure that more people need to discover.
