Zonzo Estate has a beautiful setup and a great summer vibe. We sat outside (warn The flies!) and the place looked lovely, perfect for a relaxed afternoon in the Yarra Valley.
The food was ok, nothing too memorable, but the spritz drinks were the highlight for us. We absolutely loved the spritz, especially the Roro and the Cicchio (pistachio spritz) — the Cicchio was amazing, like drinking a perfume in the best way! Really unique and refreshing.
One downside was the flies. Since we were sitting outside in summer, there were a lot of them and there didn’t seem to be any fans or other measures to help reduce them, which made it a bit uncomfortable.
We were also a bit disappointed with the wine tasting experience. Even though there were two of us, we were only allowed to choose 3 wines and we both had to taste the same ones. It would have been nicer to try different wines between us, and it also feels like it limits potential sales.
In the end we bought the Cicchio and Zoncello. The Zoncello and Roro were actually about $2 cheaper at the estate compared to our local boutique wine shop, and I don’t think our local shop even sells the Cicchio, so that was a plus.
Service was fine, polite but nothing really special or standout.

Zonzo Estate – Inside Barn Restaurant
Saturday lunch, 3 January 2026
We had a relaxed Saturday lunch at Zonzo’s Inside Barn and thoroughly enjoyed it.
The setting is lovely without trying too hard. Rustic, light-filled, and open to vineyard views that immediately slow you down. It feels comfortable and welcoming rather than staged.
The food was the highlight. The lamb was beautifully cooked, tender and full of flavour, and the eggplant pizza was excellent: wood-fired, well balanced, and genuinely satisfying without being heavy. Simple food done properly.
We had cocktails rather than wine, and they were well made and refreshing, a great match for a warm afternoon lunch.
Service was warm and memorable, especially from our waiter Hudson, who surprised us with a fun Elvis song and a cheerful “Happy Birthday.” It added a light, playful moment that lifted the whole experience without feeling forced.
Overall, Zonzo delivers good food, an easy atmosphere, and friendly service in a beautiful Yarra Valley setting. A great place for a long, unhurried lunch when you just want to enjoy yourself and not think too hard about it.

We got married at Zonzo in June and it exceeded all of our expectations.
The venue is stunning, the perfect backdrop for wedding photos.
The food and drinks were amazing and the level of service was outstanding, all servers the night of were both professional and friendly and the venue was just beautiful.
Emma and the other coordinators made sure our big day ran so smoothly. Any wedding stresses disappeared with the level of organisation and attention to detail that was provided.
They made us feel so special and we cannot recommend them enough.
All of our guests had an amzing night and are still talking about our wedding months later! 10/10 experience from start to finish!

We went to Zonzo recently and honestly left quite disappointed.
Unless you’re going as part of a big group, I wouldn’t really recommend it. The whole place feels set up for functions, not individual diners. Service felt rushed and a bit indifferent.
Food and wine were just average. Nothing terrible, but nothing memorable either.
We were seated under direct midday sun and sat there for nearly two hours. It was uncomfortably hot and made the whole experience drag.
The woman who introduced herself as the manager came across as rude. Her expression and attitude were dismissive, and it was obvious my overseas guests felt uncomfortable as well.
Overall, it just didn’t feel worth it.

Had an amazing time here for my birthday. The food was great and the service was top tier, especially from Hudson. He gave the best recommendations of what food and drinks to choose from the menu. I’d highly recommend.
