First time eating at Castellos in Chelsea (on new years eve)
As a local, I've wanted to try Castellos for a while now. I'm impressed by the 4 or 5 vegan options on the menu so there is something for everyone. I tried 2 starters and chips so that I could try as many different things as possible. The Bang Bang cauliflower was nice but not seasoned and the batter that was through the cauliflower was still raw. Maybe just needs a lighter coating. Still nice enough. The rolled veg tacos had a nice TexMex flavour and crunchy outer. The broccolini was not part of the dish but was from my husbands meal.
Chips were delish. Husband had chicken scaloppini and it was very good. He was very impressed. Drinks were reasonably priced. Staff were friendly. Food came out fairly quickly.
The only thing that bothered me was a 15% surcharge on the food. Since New years eve is not recognised as a public holiday in Victoria and there was no mention of a surcharge when i booked or when we were seated or when I ordered I was a bit shocked when I checked my bank account to see that I was charged more then the menu prices. This should probably be communicated at some point.

Lovely place.
Went with my grandsons last night.
Has a fabulous fishtank, the boys loved that.
Has an indoor playground, that was great.
Food was good and friendly staff.
Will definately go back.
Has pokies, bar and dining.

A nice stop after a stroll along Chelsea beach. A busy happy vibe in the bistro, staff very friendly. Glass of Cape Schanck went well with the Roast of the day. Coffee is a smooth blend.

The atmosphere was lovely, gorgeous lighting and I loved watching the fish tank.
Lots of space, very pretty view from the windows and friendly staff. Attentive, seemed to get along well.
I got the arancini and the lime pepper squid, both were fantastic. The lime sauce served with the squid was fantastic.
The magherita pizza was fantastic too, thin crisp base and flavourful toppings. The crust was chewy and crisp on the outside, a delightful experience.
Drinks were also fantastic, I got the lemon lime bitters and my partner got the apple juice.
Only thing I was disappointed about was the lack of dessert menu, I have a sweet tooth.

Pizzas were pretty cupboardy unfortunately..the mixed drinks / cocktails not well done .. mojitos not made like your usual mojito cocktail 🍸🍹 especially when you are charged so much for these drinks. But the chips were delicious 😋
