Not usually one to leave a review… but popped in for a pie whilst travelling and found the meat pie to be the perfect traveller pie. Filling doesn’t fall out, base tough enough unlike some pies that give way and pastry didn’t flake everywhere in my car! Taste was great too 👌

Came in fairly close to closing time, there wasn't a lot of options left but it all looked pretty good so I got two pies a salami and salad roll and a vanilla slice.
I really enjoyed all of it. The roll tasted like it was a home made roll from your mum for school lunch. The pies were delicious too, I really enjoyed the chilli steak pie. We have a pieface near our house and it's not even close imo, go Kemp's.. it's too bad I'm on the other side of Melbourne and was just passing through. What a gem for the locals

Grew up in Kilmore and it was always exciting when my parents came home with a tray of slices to have. My favourite has always hedgehog. Was going through Kilmore today and wanted to relive the experience so stopped and grabbed a slice.
The tiny portion that was handed over was embarrassing compared to what you used to get. The icing was thin and terrible. Would have been better get a prepackaged slice from a servo.
Obviously the new owners didn’t keep the original recipe.
$5 down the drain.
Hopefully there pies are still good.

As a pie enthusiast, if I’m paying premium pie price I pretty much expect premium pie perfection. $20.90 for two pies and one drink - you do the math. Overall, not bad.

Looked up on Google, who made the best pies in Kilmore. Kemps had a lot of reviews and awards… but I got the most dried out excuse for a pie at 1pm lunchtime. Must have been left over from yesterday as I don’t see how it could dry out that much if baked this morning. Very disappointing.
