We received a very friendly welcome on arrival with a complimentary room upgrade. Lovely handwritten welcome card and chocolates in the room. Beautiful old building in a great location. Will definitely be staying again

We stayed in one of the small apartments and it was a nice size for a longer stay. It is an older building but facilities were lovely and clean and the staff were beyond amazing. I cannot recommend Dennis and his team highly enough!! Home away from home :)

I stayed at The Grand Hotel Melbourne for 6 nights. I was greeted and checked in by the Owner and General Manager Denis and we had some great conversations. The room was great and had everything I needed. I will definitely stay there again. Denis is very passionate and positive about his work and customer service. He is definitely someone to learn from in the hotel and hospitality business. 10/10 experience.

Old school charm with old school customer service ♥️ Stayed here for 2 nights and WOW what an experience. Met by the owner Denis outside who greeted us with open arms. Check in was easy and fast from the beautiful reception team. Walk into the room to see a lovely hand written card from Denis with some chocolates 🍫 ♥😍😍 The hallways are stunningly huge and yea if you've seen "the shinning" you'll love and appreciate these hallways. A must is to see the grand staircase on level 2, its just Devine. The room itself was perfect. Very comfy bed and everything we needed with full kitchen facilities. The indoor pool, spa, sauna and gym were also amazing. Location is absolutely perfect from Crown, Southern Cross Station and Marvel Stadium on your doorstep. Parking is also available on site for a reasonable rate. Do yourself a favour and visit

This 1890's era hotel built originally for Victorian Railways really is grand with matching olden days customer service incl welcome chocolates. I was greeted and checked in by the owner himself Denis. I booked their smallest studio but because I paid early and booked directly I got a better price and they upgraded me to a much bigger room. Kitchenette enabled me to self cater and save money during this work trip. Coles Spencer St is about 700m walk away.
