If you appreciate a proper American-style hamburger, Ruffles Burgers & Grill really gets it right. I ordered a Wagyu Beef Burger and the patty was cooked on a flat-top grill (griddle), giving it that classic caramelised exterior while keeping the inside juicy and full of flavour. I could taste the technique straight away, this is old-school, no shortcuts. The burger was thoughtfully built with quality, fresh ingredients: + Crisp oak lettuce for freshness and crunch + Ripe, juicy tomato that added balance and brightness + Sweet, lightly frizzled onion for texture and depth + Melted American cheese sitting perfectly on the patty + And a well-balanced house sauce, very much in the style of a Thousand Island dressing: creamy, tangy, and nostalgic without being heavy. All of this is held together by a soft, lightly toasted brioche style bun that actually did its job, no collapsing halfway through. Beyond the food, the experience is just as good. The staff are friendly and welcoming, the service feels relaxed and genuine, and the restaurant is clean and well maintained, pleasantly air conditioned with a large screen TV featuring sports. It’s clear pride is taken in the place. No gimmicks or over-complication, just a classic American-inspired hamburger, made properly, using fresh quality ingredients, reasonably priced, in a setting that suits Warrandyte perfectly. Highly recommended. I’ll definitely be back.
