My partner and I recently dined at the Yarra Valley Grand Hotel, and we genuinely couldn’t fault a single thing.
We both ordered the eye fillet steaks, cooked medium rare — and they were absolutely perfect. Tender, flavoursome, and cooked exactly as requested. Full compliments to Chef Dylan, who prepared our meals to perfection. The fabulous sides of greens and corn were the ideal accompaniment and completed the dish beautifully.
The table service was warm and attentive without being overbearing, and the atmosphere was relaxed, welcoming, and vibrant — exactly what you hope for when enjoying a great pub meal.
At $115 for the two of us, we walked away with full bellies and huge smiles. Incredible value for money for food of that quality.

Excellent Porterhouse Steak. Cooked to perfection. Pork Ribs were fantastic - generous serve.
This is the second time we have dined at this establishment and we were very pleased on both occasions.
Will come back here for dining without hesitation.

An absolutely outstanding dining experience at the Yarra Valley Grand Hotel. The salmon fillet was beautifully cooked—perfectly flaky, full of flavour, and thoughtfully plated. What truly elevated the meal, however, the exceptional service from Skye. Her attention to detail was second to none: attentive without being intrusive, knowledgeable about the dish, and genuinely warm throughout the entire experience. Every small touch was considered, making us feel both welcomed and well looked after. Skye is a true asset to the venue, and combined with such a superb meal, this visit was memorable from start to finish. Highly recommended.

Visited the pub again tonight. As usual the service and staff were fantastic. Joel, Patrick, Coops, Jaz and the whole team make you feel welcome and look after us really well. We are locals and so don' t necessarily want to let everyone in on the secret because we love it as it is, but we go there every Friday night as a group (3-10 of us) and have never had a bad night. We regularly have dinner and the menu is delicious. It is a great place to catch up with friends and the place has an eclectic style we love. Will be back again next Friday. See you there!

We've been coming here for a few years as our 'local'. It's changed hands to a corporate that manages a fairly sizeable collection of pubs. There were some changes (some good, some bad), but the staff has been consistent and has helped align some of the changes to get better outcomes. That said, it was sad to see some of the local wines changed to some of the larger producers.
Kudos to the staff--they have always been excellent and helpful. The food has been consistent and solid for a while now, too, and they do seasonal updates of their menus.
Some money has been pumped in to upgrading the accommodation (and I hear they will continue to improve and upgrade--it's a beautiful building). My wife and I really have to shout out to them for helping with emergency accommodation with the recent bushfires. They were extremely accommodating to us (and our neighbours) and we are very thankful.
