I highly recommend Fat Chef Carrum Downs. We came here last year in December as a family of 7 and ordered their premium board which includes a massive tomahawk steak, porterhouse steaks, lamb skewers, juicy parmas x4, grilled chicken strips and usually prawns and calamari. Due to our religious dietary requirements, they happily offered us alternates for the prawn and calamari. We all ate more than enough and still couldn’t finish the food and had a lot to take home. We then decided to book their front event room for my husband’s 50th birthday lunch for an intimate gathering of 55 close family and friends. We ordered 7 of their premium boards, plus a number of vegetarian meals, garlic bread and wedges as starters and around 18 jugs of soft drinks and bottles of water. The way Ding and his staff accommodated our group and timed to perfection the cooking and arrival of the food, everything ran smoothly and our guests were more than impressed with the delicious food, the size of the platters and the amazing and friendly staff. The tomahawk steaks not only added that wow factor but they were cooked perfectly to our taste. Just amazing! All this whilst still providing impeccable service and food to the main room for the busy lunch hours. They didn’t rush us and allowed us to enjoy a wonderful time together in a great venue, with good company and delicious food. There was so much left for our guests to take home too! If you’re thinking of a place to eat with the family or to put on an event, I couldn’t recommend this place any more! We will see you again soon Ding and the fantastic team at Fat Chef Carrum Downs. Thank you and God bless. Jackie and Noah

It started off well we were seated on a pram friendly table. However it was quick to change.
They were busy with limited table service and we were told to wave when we’re ready to order. We ordered the Parmalaki platter and it looked great but in theory the parmas weren’t fried properly and soggy. The lamb skewers were chewy and tough, the chicken skewers were flavoured with turmeric and Indian inspired flavours which should be advised in the menu as souvlaki skewers you would assume would be Greek flavoured. The service was very limited and you could feel it was understaffed. It was quite an underwhelming experience and for the price would rather go somewhere else and enjoy a decent meal.
When raising this with management we were told we should have sent the food back which isn’t a resolution focused response, it falls short of customer service.

Definitely worth a visit. We had the Fat Chef platter. All food came out hot, meat was tender and super tasty. Service was fabulous and we got containers for left overs

I have given this place many chances over the journey. The standards of the food and service have varied greatly. I like their parmas and burgers but their steak and vegetable cookery is very hit and miss most of the time. It does get noisy and the wait staff tend to leave you alone for too long, making you feel forgotten about. Oh yeah, make sure to bring cash as their Eftpos is usually out of commission. On the whole it's an ok place to eat but never great, l never recommend it anybody any more.

We got there and was advised where we were seated, the staff then approached us to take our drinks orders, which was fine, after drinks arrived we placed our meal orders, kids meal came our looking great, kids pizza was full on with cheese tho, main souvlak share platter for 4 but in all honesty it was more for 2 people. Lamb was tough and Chewy, chicken was more like Indian not Greek as the marinate was not right.
Salad was over done with dressing.
Over priced for what you get, my kids were still hungry so ate again once home.
