We have visited the Butler's Pantry a few times, with the most recent visit resulting in this review. [ ] Locating/Ease of Access: 10/10 Finding the restaurant is easy, it's located on the corner, with a large wrapped window. Impossible to miss. Access was simple, with ample parking, ramps to get to the door and a single level venue. Seats were far enough apart to get a pram through, which was a novelty. [ ] Service/Wait Times: 8/10 The wait staff were friendly, but lacked the presence on the floor. We sat for 15 minutes before being approached on our most recent visit. The waitress didn't write down our order, instead relying on memory (which whilst I find impressive, I also distrust) which resulted in our order being incorrect. The service rating was redeemed by the fact the owner (who was in the kitchen) came out during a busy service because he could see we were waiting to pay at the counter. [ ] Atmosphere/Feel: 9/10 The music was audible without having to raise your voice, the restaurant was clean, and well laid out. It's obvious the owner cares a lot about how the place looks. It was a family-friendly vibe, but still felt intimate enough to have a brunch date. [ ] Food/Drink: 9/10 The presentation is top notch. Every dish has been polished and refined with detail and thought. We ordered hotcakes and the Benny, the eggs were perfect, and the dish was well balanced. Serving on a stack of potato gratin was an excellent choice. It provided textural variety, with a nice savoury note. The hotcakes were lovely, but very dense. I had to help my partner finish it, and even then it was a lot. We ordered the sauce on the side - thank God we did! It was very rich and likely would have made the hotcakes impossible to finish! The coffee was great, and consistent. Both recent visits were excellent coffee. I can safely say this place does a good roast. [ ] Other: 9/10 Overall the experiences here were positive. I would recommend eating here if you're passing or looking for something that isn't a gamble. If you have a large table, I'd recommend booking ahead - as they get busy some mornings. 45/50 - A solid score! Keep up the great work!
