A great local Victorian Tavern right in the heart of Gisborne that has 'everything', and a reputation for consistently good food and entertainment. Drop in for lunch or dinner and unwind in their clean and comfortable restaurant that has an extensive menu including daily specials and discounted meals for seniors and also caters for vegans - Suggest you try their garlic bread for entree, and for mains try their fish and chips with salad or the the eggplant parma or their turkey roast of the day or the Singapore noodles stir fry with tiger prawns for an out of this World dining experience! Truly, everything was fresh and tasty and juicy and reasonably priced and served promptly by the friendly staff (especially Sarah who was simply amazing) - Gotta love that! They also have a sports bar if you want a game of pool, a TAB and bottle shop, and a playground for the kid's. Open 7 days a week with nearby free parking and they also cater for large groups, and our overall experience was worthy of a 5 star rating - Very Highly recommended 👏👍😊

I give it 5 stars. I bring the entire family here from Sunbury. As a Senior I love how you are not stuck with just a Senior menu but 20% off all. The atmosphere is good and kids can play up front and we can dine up the back. Service is always good and fast. Staff young and friendly. Often I can’t finish or have been unwell and they organise a container to take home. That makes all the difference.

Staff have no customer service skills, extremely rude and will walk past you without even acknowledging you while you wait to be seated. Not only is this place over priced but staff attitude topped it off & so they will never see my business again. Highly recommend you go elsewhere if you want a good atmosphere and to actually deal with people with good customer service. Lot of other restaurants nearby with better & cheaper food and a tab with better service just up the road.

If you are looking to book for a large group 40 plus give it a big miss.
For the 3rd year in a row after specifically asking to not be jammed in like sardines (the serving staff could not even get to us) we were once again squashed in to an end space in the dining room.
It is the last time our group will be going there to celebrate Australia Day.
Also just as well I call a few days early to confirm I was told our booking had been cancelled that was fixed but if we had all turned up on the day there would have been great confusion.

The place was so busy there was only seating outside but it was a lovely view and clean tables. We both had the Caesar salad. Mine was a plain Caesar and my friend had calamari with hers. It was absolutely delicious. I gave the meal five stars. Service was spot on.
