Highly recommend this place. Food options for everyone. The food was delicious, the server was super friendly and although they appeared short staffed, they were friendly and efficient. The food was delicious. Good portion sizes. Will def be going back here. So happy to find it.

Came here this morning for brekkie. I had a brekkie burrito, which was delicious. Paired with a strawberry rhubarb skinny matcha, which was perfection! Hubby had his regular eggs on toast with some yum sides. Love that they make their own potato hash! He had an earl grey tea. Would definitely come back when around this area! Thank you x

Our 3rd visit to the jolly miller in Gisborne and once again this place has delivered. Great hospitality, amazing food and the service is 2nd to none. The manager Jason came out to say hello and make sure our food was ok and that we were happy. It is always a pleasant experience every time we visit this place. We drive 45mins just to come here and eat because rarely do you come across a Gem like the jolly miller 5 stars for sure.

Absolutely loved my visit! From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere felt warm and welcoming. The staff were super friendly, attentive without being pushy, and made the whole experience smooth and enjoyable. The food was fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care — every bite hit the spot. Portions were generous, presentation looked great, and everything came out quickly. It’s the kind of place where you can relax, enjoy your meal, and actually look forward to coming back.

I’m extremely disappointed with my recent visit to The Jolly Miller Cafe. I paid $15 each for three focaccias that were clearly not fresh. The bread was as hard as a rock, it was days old. When I went back to the counter to complain, I was told they were “yesterday’s". That’s simply not good enough. If you’re charging $15 for a focaccia, it should be fresh and if it’s not, it should be discounted. To make matters worse, I specifically asked whether the mushroom focaccia was vegan before purchasing. I was assured that it was. It absolutely wasn’t. It contained cheese and egg mayonnaise. And on top of all that, they slapped a 10% weekend surcharge onto the bill. So not only was I charged premium prices for stale, rock-hard bread and incorrect dietary advice. I paid extra for the privilege. The only positive in this experience was the lady who handled my complaint. She was genuinely helpful and corrected the issue without any fuss, which I appreciated. Overpriced, misleading, and extremely disappointing. I won’t be returning.
