Gisborne BAKERY + CAFE

Awesome bakery and cafe, great atmosphere, award winning pies. Had the chilli beef and sweet curry beef, both were great (awesome quality). Wasnt a big fan of the blueberry slice (pretty rich).

Came in last weekend after having lunch elsewhere and were lucky to get a table as it was so busy! I ordered the Cronut which was full of cream with a fresh strawberry on top and it was delicious. Crispy and chewy with more than enough cream. My husband had the vanilla slice and the custard was fantastic, but the icing on top was very thick which took away from the overall flavour of the slice. His coffee was okay, he said it was a little bitter. I had the hot chocolate which was pretty standard for a hot chocolate. Service was okay. Will definitely be back to try some of their pies and savoury foods!

A lot of good to choose from. The shop assistant was helpful and smiling and the Sheperds pie was delicious. Regret not trying their vanilla slice, it looked so good.

The food It is award winning and beautiful The pies are a must to try and they have so many different varieties Mine was a beef, Bacon and cheese Followed up with a vanilla slice (also delicious) The service I felt was the area that could do with improvement Seemed like only one staff member was working This meant took time to get served. The atmosphere The location was perfect for where they are located in Gisborne very rustic However the issue I had was the tables and set up made it feel cluttered and cramped
