We had a lovely meal with high-quality food and a wonderful atmosphere. The mountain views are truly spectacular and make for a memorable setting. However, the cellar experience was a bit of a letdown. Unlike the attentive service in the restaurant, the wine tasting felt transactional; the expert simply poured the wine, named it, and walked away. I was hoping for a bit more engagement and storytelling given the 'expert' setting.

Well worth a visit. Yering Station is one of the magnificent Wine Estates in Yarra Valley. Conveniently located on the main road between Yarra Glen and Lilydale. See the Wine Tasting and Shop, and the magnificent Restaurant-with-a-view-to-admire. And look down onto the wine making cellar area. We were staying at the Chateau Yering Hotel right next door. Pop in and look at this Old-style hotel as well (established 1867)! Yes, pop in for a short (or long) stay here :)

Andy was the only highlight of the wine tasting. He definitely brought some knowledge in the wine making process, flavours in the wine and then also paring. This was in comparison to another server just saying "it's got like 5 different berries in there" or "it's just a dry style of wine". Come if you want to tick it off the list but that's all I can really say about it with my palate.

We paid for a tasting- we like to share tasting glasses as they only offer a subset of wines at each payment level, but the tastes were so small that we struggled to share. First time ever. And the wines weren't that great. We usually feel an obligation to buy a wine, to at least recoup the tasting fee. Didn't buy anything, and the person attending to us was obviously not happy about that.

Yering Station offers a solid winery experience, earning a 3.5/5.0 rating. The estate is spacious and well-maintained, with beautiful vineyard views that create a relaxing environment for wine tasting. Their wine selection is decent, with some enjoyable reds and whites, though not every variety stands out. The tasting experience is complemented by friendly and knowledgeable staff who provide helpful guidance. Facilities are comfortable, with options for food pairings that enhance the visit. While the winery is pleasant and suitable for a casual stop in the Yarra Valley, it lacks the uniqueness or wow factor of some nearby wineries. Overall, Yering Station is a reliable choice for a relaxed and enjoyable wine tasting experience.
