We had a wonderful experience here. Staff was genuinely helpful and gave us good recommendation for the food. As you can see from the photo, the plate is wiped clean 🤣
My favourite dish would probably be the crispy pork. I would like to try the seafood platter next time.
The only disappointment was there were no dessert today which is surprising.

After waiting an hour and a half for your food you will be disgustingly disappointed.
Beef brisket was burnt, dry and fatty.
Spaghetti was jelly and most likely canned.
Fish was mushy like it was frozen and they couldn’t even be bothered thawing it out properly.
How you can serve that and claim that “everything is cooked fresh is disgusting”
Also horribly overpriced for the quality.
After a “lovely” meal we’ve ended up at maccas.

When you charge a ridiculous amount for your food you can be sure we’re going to fight through and eat it. Don’t know about you but I don’t feel like wasting my money.
We treated your staff with nothing but respect, we joked with our waitress and had no issues with them.
What comes out of the kitchen is not their fault.
We said nothing to them, only to you.
I reckon maccas is as “fresh” as what you serve but at least they’re not charging $45 for one shitty plate of food.

We had an amazing time at the Gisborne food and wine festival today! The seafood spaghetti was incredible, and the strawberry martini was definitely a highlight. I absolutely loved the margarita pizza, and the gnocchi and lamb ragù were also delicious. Can't wait to go back!

The venue is lovely and in a great spot, but unfortunately our experience overall was quite poor. We were seated on arrival quite quickly as there were heaps of tables available, but then it took almost 20 minutes to come back to take our order. There were only two people on the floor so it looked like they were a little understaffed.
I ordered a peach ice tea, which unfortunately was a sparkling tea, rather than a still tea like I was expecting. It was okay but I didn't finish it.
The structural integrity and texture of the arancini was good, however they were extremely bland with little to no flavour.
We shared the meat platter, the only item I enjoyed was the chicken tenders and at best I'd rate them 3.5 stars. The lamb backstrap was quite tough, the 4 tiny pieces of pork belly were chewy, not crispy, but the flavour was okay. The sauce on the pork ribs was fine, but the meat itself was only okay. We didn't finish the brisket, it was tough and tasteless.
If it wasn't so expensive for what it was, I'd probably rate it a 3, but I can't justify the cost for the quality of the meal.
Service was okay, nothing above or below what you would expect at any restaurant.

Definitely worth visiting for a meal.
We went with friends who are locals to the area and we had the Salmon with salad and chips and the ribs with slaw and chips.
We would have tried one of their desserts, which we were told were very nice, but we were full after an entree of pita bread with dips (spicy capsicum and beetroot were our choices on the night) and then the mains following it.
Maybe next time.
If you like generous, well presented and very tasty meals, definitely go for a visit.
