The highlight of this BUFFET was the variety of food to select from, especially the pasta bar where you can create your own dish and have it cooked fresh for you. That said, the wait time for the pasta station was quite long.
Unfortunately, the buffet area was very crowded, almost to the point where people were squeezing and pushing just to get food, which took away from the experience. The food quality was also a bit disappointing: the seafood wasn’t cold enough, the sushi rice was dry, and the salads were mushy. The dishes didn't also display if they were gluten free, and finding staff to explain what was, made it a mission.
There also seemed to be a lack of staff, and service felt slow overall. I’d probably recommend avoiding weekends!
On the positive side, it’s priced reasonably for what you get, especially with items like prawns, mussels, and oysters included. Overall, decent value, but the experience could be much better with improved crowd control, staffing, and food quality.

I wanted to write a review about my experience as the bad reviews and low rating make it sound really bad but our experience was anything but. From the start the service was very good, staff helpful and communicative. The buffet food was delicious and value for money - so much variety, cooked to perfection and continuously replenished. The lamb curry is a particular stand out - amazing! The staff were attentive, ensuring our used plates were removed from the table quickly. The only issue we had was the noise levels were a bit too loud sometimes. We could have requested to be seated in a quieter area, but they thoughtfully placed us near the playground area because we had our young daughter with us. Overall our experience was pleasantly surprised and we will happily go back again soon. Thank you to all the staff at Watergardens Hotel - you’re all doing an excellent job.

I hadn’t been here for quite a while and unfortunately I’m unlikely to return.
The atmosphere is nice and the service is good for an affordable hotel. What I really struggled with was the taste of the food, in particular the desserts. My friend and I were only able to describe the odd taste as “electrical” almost like tasting an electrical fire when the smell hits the back of your throat. Neither of us were able to finish it, this applied to the mousse, sticky date, bread pudding and caramel sauce which seemed quite unusual. Unfortunately I can’t say too much about the food itself either, many of the rice dishes are watered down and much of it tastes frozen. I would however like to compliment the vegetables and roast dishes. These were actually quite pleasant and enjoyable with the gravy, unfortunately this alongside some of the seafood dishes are the only things I would recommend.

Everything was enjoyable the food the service and staff. Particularly the staff I couldn't go out of their way anymore than what they did as my wife needed special dietary requirements they bended over backwards to help the chef prepared extra food the way we needed it as my wife has a medical condition couldn't speak more highly of the place unlike some other places 100% spot on thank you everyone
